STORY

From communication to action

Development projects succeed when people act. Yet the communication meant to make that happen is usually treated as production work and rarely measured. STORY works backwards from the outcome instead.

How it works

  1. Find who needs to act

Start from the project's outcome and name the people whose behavior decides it.

  2. Pick the message and the messenger

Decide what gets said, and who people will actually listen to.

  3. Test before spending

Try the options on a small scale before the budget goes out.

  4. Measure against the project's results

Track change with the project's own results framework.

  5. People act

The outcome the project was built for.
